Northumbrian gives a boost to North-east

Construction firms in the North-east are set to win a major share of the estimated ￡1.5B-worth of contracts announced by Northumbrian Water. The ten-year spending programme for AMP5 offers a boost to building firms and consultants including Northeast-based Entec, Lumsden and Carroll, Owen Pugh, In-terserve and Seymour, which are among 19 preferred suppliers appointed to the utility's framework agreement.The suppliers will bid for contracts for all major future work planned and required to upgrade and maintain Northumbrian's drinking water and sewerage networks in the North-east and in Essex and Suffolk.
