THERMAL DRYING: OPERATIONS AND USER ACCEPTANCE

This paper discusses the issues associated with the use of thermal drying to stabilise and dewater biosolids from municipal wastewater treatment plants, with reference to two plants in New Zealand, New Plymouth and Seaview, both of which have been operating for over five years. The New Plymouth Plant has registered its thermally dried product and now sells it as an organic fertiliser.
