Simplifying the programming models is paramount to the success ofnreconfigurable computing with field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).nThis paper presents a methodology to combine true object-oriented designnof the compiler/CAD tool with an object-oriented hardware designnmethodology in C++. The resulting system provides all the benefits ofnobject-oriented design to the compiler/CAD tool designer and to thenhardware designer/programmer. The two examples for domain-specificncompilers presented are BSAT and StReAm. Each domain-specific compilernis targeted at a very specific application domain, such as applicationsnthat accelerate Boolean satisfiability problems with BSAT, andnapplications which lend themselves for implementation as a streamnarchitecture with StReAm. The key benefit of the presented domainnspecific compilers is a reduction of design time by orders of magnitudenwhile keeping the optimal performance of hand-designed circuits
