Wintershall Dea keeps CCS plan but cuts capex

GERMAN giant Wintershall Dea will stick with its push on cleaner energy despite reducing investments in what is expected to be a tough year ahead, as it shies away from oil and banks on gas in a portfolio makeover. While actual investment details were scarce in a company presentation last week following the release of its full-year results, chief executive Mario Mehren said Wintershall Dea is researching carbon capture and storage (CCS) and has set up a specialist unit to support its goal.
