Wintershall DEA to cut capex

Germany’s Wintershall Dea plans to reduce its capital expenditure (capex) for 2020 by 30% after posting a loss in Q1 2020, mainly due to the low oil price environment. The operator recorded an adjusted net loss of US $85.3m (€78m) for Q1 2020, compared to an adjusted net income of $350.1m (€320m) in Q1 2019. Wintershall Dea’s production during Q1 2020 was 626,000 boe/d, unchanged when com- pared to output in Q1 2019.
