Hibiscus discovery optimism

BW ENERGY has expressed optimism about the potential of its Hibiscus Updip discovery on the Dussafu licence offshore Gabon after drilling an appraisal well that it said indicates it is significantly larger than pre-drill expectations. The Norwegian player reported late last week that the DHIBM-ST1 appraisal sidetrack had encountered 28 metres of pay in the Gamba formation, with the oil-water contact the same as that encountered in the DHIBM-1 discovery well.
