Tunnel supporters sleepless in Seattle

Voters in Seattle are to pick either a cut & cover tunnel or replacement highway to replace the troubled Alaskan Way Viaduct, it was announced in December in a bid to overcome the political stalemate over the options. But, as T&TI went to press, the ballot plan proposed by Washington State's Governor, Christine Gregoire - and welcomed by Seattle City Council officials -faced possible interruption.
