The Government of Mauritius is in the final stages of presenting a Bill to Parliament aimed at allowing the set-up of Private Foundations in Mauritius. Mauritius is already known for being the prime gateway for the structuring of investments into India and Africa. Leveraging on its fiscal and non-fiscal advantages and innovative and forward-looking trust law, the jurisdiction has also grown in the past years to become a leading jurisdiction for private client services in the region. The enactment of a Foundations Act is aimed at promoting Mauritius as a platform for wealth management services, succession, and estate planning.
