The Newcastle closure

There were preparatory works for the Newcastle branch closure over the weekend of 22-23 November 2014. There was resignalling between Hamilton Station and Woodville Junction, the major triangular junction on the main line. There was also some preparatory work for the Wickham Interchange. A traveller to Newcastle on a weekday in early December reported much work alongside the rail corridor between Hamilton and Wickham.
