The East Lancashire Railway was racing against time during February to raise ￡50,000 to save the original Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway canopy at Oldham Mumps station.rnIf the cash was not found to buy the components, the canopy looked set to be demolished.rnOldham Mumps is on the Oldham loop line between Manchester and Rochdale, which closed in October for the route to be converted into part of the Manchester Metrolink tram network.
