A roof part or cassette of a vehicle roof is lowerable by a link arrangement (48) from a raised to a lowered position. A closure device (14) secures the roof part both in the raised and lowered positions and works in conjunction when the roof part is raised with a first counter bearing (11) fitted to an at least time-wise fixed roof part B-column (20). With the roof part lowered, the closure device works in conjunction with a second counter bearing (62) fixed to a component of the link arrangement. The closure component is operated by a motor, which also operates a folding roof openable during travel. The lowering link mechanism (48) is formed with four links.
