Network Rail has submitted plans for a new maintenance centre of excellence in Derby. Martin Frobisher, route managing director for Network Rail, said: "The depot is central to our plans to help sustain a modern, reliable railway in the East Midlands."By bringing our frontline teams into a single location we can better plan and resource the maintenance of the railway.rn"The site of the new depot is alongside the 70-acre Chaddesden triangle, which has been earmarked for development."
