Work resumes on the sole-preserved'Bone'

Members of the Class 58 Locomotive Group have resumed work on BR Type 5 No. 58016, having spent much of the past few months supporting the Class 56 Group's return to service of No. 56006 at Barrow Hill. The C58LG has the responsibility of maintaining for posterity No. 58016, which at the moment is the only member of this important, formerly 50-strong class that is preserved in the UK. There currently appears to be little prospect of any other Class 58s entering preservation in the foreseeable future.
