In 2005, Aker Yards took the decision to produce its own designs for offshore support vessels (OSV), including platform supply vessels (PSV), dive support vessels, and remotely operated vehicles, which have been contracted to companies such as Olympic Shipping and Geo Subsea. In 2006 the company began to develop Arctic OSVs, and based on recent ice classed builds, such as Fesco Sakhalin - which has a double acting concept selected by Exxon, and Polar Pevek -which assists tankers in the De-Kastri oil loading terminal offshore Russia, Aker has now introduced the ARC 105 PSV concept.
