A WINDOW TO THE SKY

The proposal for the Garden House is to demolish an existing single storey bungalow sited in the original garden of an 1820s Notting Hill detached villa (now flats), replacing it with a three-bedroom home on ground and basement floors. The house is proposed as a pavilion sited within a mature garden. While an unusual form, it is directly related to the site and its surroundings. The design has evolved through careful analysis of sunlight and daylight penetration to the overshadowed site, and seeks to protect view corridors from neighbouring houses.
