Comments on the Devezas - Corredine paper

The paper is a broad ranging summary on the history and one approach to understanding long waves. It introduces some new ideas, although a lot of what is presented has been discussed before, often with direct quotes from the work of earlier authors. This is perhaps inevitable in a review article. A valuable contribution is that the theories of different disciplines (economics, stock markets, social, etc.) have been compared and shown to be equivalent, albeit with different symbolism.
