DOUG GERULL has been appointed chief operating officer for SURREY SATELLITE TECHNOLOGY US LLC (SST-US). In his new position, he will assist the company in structuring its U.S. manufacturing capacity and establishing U.S. commercial, civil and military markets. Prior to his latest appointment, Gerull co-founded and served as a director for Earth imagery services provider DigitalGlobe; executive vice president of Integraph Corp., heading its Mapping Sciences Division; and group manager for Carl Zeiss, managing distribution of aerial sensors and measurement systems for civil and military programs. SST-US is a wholly owned subsidiary of U.K.-based Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. SST-US, Englewood, Colo., was established to exploit the small-satellite market.
