Educational Foundation Seeks Joint Ventures on All Levels

The AFCEA Educational Foundation's future is in partnerships. In 2005, the foundation and AFCEA chapters awarded $1.4 million in scholarships and grants to encourage excellence in the study of science and mathematics, and its Professional Development Center presented 60 hands-on classes in command, control, communications and intelligence technologies. The goal now is to make those programs not wider but much deeper. More and more, the foundation will be reaching down to elementary school students by partnering with the association's chapters on jointly financed initiatives, and it will deepen, or increase, and permanently endow the current scholarships program through match-ing-fund partnerships with corporate and private sponsors.
