Seoul urges carriers to hire Hanjin crews

The South Korean government is planning to roll out support measures for seafarers laid off from Hanjin Shipping as the fallout from the company's collapse continues. Once the country's largest shipping company and the world's seventh-largest liner operator, Hanjin Shipping went into receivership on 1 September 2016, after accumulating more than USD5 billion of debt and losing its banks' support.
