Aimed specifically at trade union representatives, this booklet is intended to give them the information they need to ensure that employers take action to prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).rnSuch a publication is necessary because, even though there has been a downward trend in the total number of work-related MSDs over the last 10 years, RSI, back pain and other upper and lower limb disorders still account for about half of the reported 1,152,000 cases of work-related illnesses each year (2010-11 figures).
