The Department of Health is consulting on Government plans to build a strong and integrated workforce for the new public health system in England.The new system, outlined in the 2010 White Paper Healthy lives, healthy people, will focus on prevention and shift responsibility for public health from central to local government. Employers, schools and community groups also have an important health promotion role (see right).
