The United Kingdom Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has published its second annual report on the government's program for managing radioactive waste safely.rnThe department reports that the program is focused on "implementing the geological disposal of higher activity radioactive waste."rnIn announcing release of the report in July, DECC said it "shows that we are continuing to make progress across a number of key areas of work in the implementation of geological disposal, working within the underpinning principles of voluntarism and partnership with local communities."
