Isolated monoclonal antibodies binding the human pathway inhibitor (tissue factor pathway inhibitor) are provided. As well as the isolated nucleic acid molecules coding the above antibodies. Pharmaceutical compositions containing monoclonal antibodies are also provided if:th-TFEI and methods for the therapeutic treatment of defects or defects in coagulation by the administration of antibodies. Methods for the production of antibodies are also provided.
