Simulation of an Electron Gun with a Field-Effect Cathode

An electron gun with a field-effect cathode is investigated. A mathematical model of an axially symmetric electron-optical system including a sharp apex on a plane metal substrate as the field-effect cathode and a system of coaxial diaphragms as the focusing electrodes is presented.
