The systems described in this paper are examples of how value can be created using global mega trends as a platform for innovation. This new technology utilizes phase inversion due to concentration (PIC). By using this technology the formulator is able to make low viscosity oil/water nanoemulsions. Nano-emulsions with an extremely fine particle size can be produced with a low-energy process that consists of simple stirring at room temperature and the utilizations of non-ethoxylated emulsifiers. Due to the fact that these systems do not require sophisticated heating, cooling or homogenization equipment, the formulator can make these systems in virtually any production equipment in less time than previous nanoemulsion technology. This extremely flexible and simplistic system allows the formulator to make a variety of very interesting products in wide ranging application areas including-sprays, cosmetic wipes, lotions and creams for the personal care market.
