The Geneva-based International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has announced the appointment of New Zealander Rob Steele as its next secretary-general.rnSteele was the chief executive of Standards New Zealand for eight years from June 1999 to May 2007. He will take up his new role on January 1.rn"This is a major recognition of Rob Steele's skills and dedication to interna-rntional standardisation.
