The dawn of the 21st century has been uniquely verbose. Never before have so many of humankind spilled more words on more matters in more genres via more media to more fellow commentators. Now, anyone with access to a computer can become a self-publishing writer. Many countries have no gatekeepers to limit who may share their expressions via the World Wide Web. The media is affordable; the know-how, easily acquired; the distribution, cheap. Give us this day our daily screed. Consider how different the act of writing was five centuries ago, in the valleys of Sumer, where Baghdad sits today.
