Writing Science: Leveraging a Few Techniques from Creative Writing Toward Writing More Effectively

“Would you rather read writing that’s clear and functional but also fun to read, or writing that’s clearand functional, but nothing more?” (Heard 2016a). This is not a question we often pose ourselves asscientific readers and writers. Yet, it opens the door to a whole corpus of writing and writing practiceswhich can be instructive for writing about science and writing scientifically.
