SCOTRAIL HAS appointed Syeda Ghufran as its Engineering Director.Ms Ghufran becomes the first woman to take on the role. She joined ScotRail in 2010 as an Engineering Management Trainee and was more recently Head of Engineering Depots - the first female to hold that role. Since 2013, she has delivered many engineering projects, including train reliability modifications, fleet refurbishments, the roll-out of Wi-Fi and the installation of Driver Advisory Systems (DAS). She replaces Angus Thorn, who moved to become ScotRail's Chief Operating Officer earlier this year.
