ScotRail and Siemens Mobility have agreed a five-year extension to their Class 380 maintenance agreement. The Technical Support and Spares Supply Agreement (TSSSA) covers engineering, maintenance and materials. It is aimed at ensuring ScotRail's fleet of 38 Siemens Class 380 three-car and four-car electric multiple units achieves optimum performance. Under the contract, Siemens employs 21 staff at the Shields depot in Glasgow. The Class 380 three-car and four-car trains have been in service since 2010. In total, the fleet has covered nearly 50 million miles on electrified lines in the Scottish lowlands.
