This paper describes a new material based on granular cork and cement mortar. By varying the percentage of cork, an experimental investigation of the thermal conductivity was performed using the boxes method. The experimental results exhibit a good agreement with the Maxwell model unlike the series and parallel models. It should be noted that for these models, the equivalent conductivities of the constituents were used instead of their effective ones. In addition a good adhesion between the granules and the cement is observed. The compressive strength is also measured.
