摘要

Perhaps, I should first thank the driver of the Porsche, who driving at about 50mph decided to use my side of the road resulting in a near head on collision giving me seven months off work. To occupy my time I wrote two articles about items I had recently made and sent these to the Model Engineer, not being aware of the new Model Engineers' Workshop having been started. They were passed to Stan Bray, the editor of MEW, who liked them and asked if I could produce more. Had it not been for that driver, this would never have happened and my retirement would have been very different.
