Town hall bosses have pledged to help develop future regulations for care home providers in order to prevent another Southern Cross-style collapse. Care minister Norman Lamb announced on 1 December a 12-week consultation over plans to introduce tighter regulation of major providers, and to develop con- tingency plans in the event of another financial failure.
