After leaving the Local Government Association (LGA) in July last year - or, more accurately, taking the offer of early retirement - and having a few weeks down time, I began an initial short-term contract with iESE Ltd, as a senior associate consultant on a self-employed basis. iESE is owned, led and governed by councils, as a not-for-profit social enterprise with a principal aim to help public bodies throughout the UK deliver improved services at lower cost.
