More than 600,000 jobs would have to be created in Britain's 'lagging' city economies to counter cuts in public sector jobs, a think tank has warned.Research by the Centre for Cities revealed places such as Stoke, Burnley and Nottingham have been losing private sector employment but the situation has been masked by a surge in public sector jobs.
