Mmm, that kinda puts it into perspective, doesn't it? And of course there are still new cars for sale today that are the price of a house, or even more.rn"If anybody had asked me what car I'd have bought if I won the pools, it would have been a Cabriolet - that was my dream car," says Jane. "I think it's just so elegant and a different option on a normal Mini."rnThen, in 1996, a friend tipped her off about just such a Cabriolet, which they had spotted for sale in a local garage, so lane felt obliged to go andrncheck it out. She ended up paying ￡8400 for a totally standard Rover Cabriolet in Nightfire Red - her colour choice, rather than Blue - and with only 5000 miles on the clock.rn"I was ecstatic! It was a beautiful day and I drove all the way home with the top down," she remembers. For the first couple of years I drove it as my everyday car. Then as I started to go to more Mini shows I realised how rare they were and I decided to buy another Mini for everyday use and save my Cabriolet for special occasions."
