Lumber and OSB rises, prices shine and shine

Lumber markets remained robust into early February, according to Crow's Weekly Market Report, while Western production remained restricted by tight log supplies. Gains were also apparent in structural panel markets. Crow's Lumber Index rose more than $25 over the last month to $471/ mbf. More broadly, lumber averages are up fully $115/mbf, or an impressive 32%, from the same period a year ago (see chart).
