I have recently purchased a 1982 Mini, which is fitted with the original 998cc engine and drum brakes. It is my intention to rebuild it and use it as everyday classic transport. I am planning to fit disc brakes and a 1275cc engine. I also intend to replace the rubber springs, dampers, subframe and suspension with new standard items. Could you tell me if all rubber springs fitted to Minis are the same and, if not, which standard springs would be best for my car. Also a friend is breaking a 1275cc Cooper and has offered me the front brakes. Can I fit the complete disc/hub/driveshaft assemblies on to my car?
