Rear seats don't tend to get the same amount of use in a Mini as the fronts but even so, in the case of this Rover Mpi bench seat (above), the foam was well past its sell by date. We visited Newton Commercial of Leiston in Suffolk to watch seat fitter, Tom Balls, retrim the seats for MiniWorld project Mini, Sheldon. Although Newton can provide off the shelf covers, we came up with a custom design. The original Rover Mpi Mini saloon rear bench seat is made up of two parts, a foam base and a rear foam squab with a metal frame.
