I am a new tablet weaver. The pretty bands on the front cover of this book had attracted me to learn the craft. This is a 'print on demand' book, consequently the price is high, and it's black and white, but good quality paper and printing. Text is in columns with original German and the English translation side-by-side.rnOtfried Staudigel has woven with tablets since the 1940s and is a master of the art. He wrote this book in order to make tablet weaving more widely known, show how easily it is mastered, save treasures from distant or past cultures, and make beautiful old patterns accessible. The patterns, mostly Persian and Burmese, are from bands in private collections and museums. They are shown in crisp black and white photographs, as well as the pattern diagrams, and all woven in two contrasting colours of yarn.
