The author has been knitting for over 30 years and it would seem that no method has been left unexplored. Many commercial patterns do not specify how to increase or decrease, leaving it up to the knitter; this often results in a less than perfect finish to the garment. It may seem pedantic to the uninitiated, but choosing the correct solution will turn the ordinary into polished perfection.
