In reference to Winston's influential 1985 overview article in the Journal of Economic Literature,~1 this book is an attempt to offer an overview of the current state of affairs in theory and practice in applied transport economic. This book is a collection of articles divided into four themes: (i) Business Economics, (ii) Transport Policy and Road Pricing, (iii) Welfare Analysis and Cost-benefit Analysis, and (iv) Value of Time. It has 24 individual chapters in total including the introduction, written by a variety of international scholars. In the introduction, the editors give an excellent overview of the current state of affairs in the field of transport economics by indicating core concepts, recent developments and remaining challenges.
