GENERATION OF FOLDABLE DOMES FORMED BY BUNDLE MODULES WITH QUADRANGULAR BASE

摘要

The purpose of this article is to describe a possible way of configuring domes formed by quadrangular base bundle modules. As for the foldable systems the corresponding joints should permit certain controlled movements which in their turn would cause the processes of folding and unfolding of the framework. The base module is basically composed of four bars connected with each other near their central point by means of an auxiliary element and pins. Apart from the above mentioned, it can incorporate auxiliary elements for stiffening and fastening a possible textile covering.
