摘要

This research investigates how the stiffness of single-layer structures can be affected by introducing local variations on the surface. The overall geometry of the surface is not affected and is thus shape-invariant. Changes to the stiffness and its distribution naturally have an impact on the static performance, but are also an important means to improve the structure's dynamic behaviour. The research is conducted through parametric studies on benchmark surfaces of various curvatures. The results will be used to inform an optimisation algorithm that considers the static as well as the dynamic performances.
