Currently, Cellular Automata (CA) model is a very important method in studying the traffic theory. In this paper, we propose a new three-lane CA traffic model under the framework of three-phase traffic theory. We design new velocity update and lane-changing rules for the traffic phase of wide moving jam and extend the Kerner-Klenov-Wolf traffic model to the three-lane case. Based on our model, a simulation system is designed and implemented. Computer numerical simulation results show that the proposed model can reproduce the typical traffic flow features of three traffic phases. Finally, this model is used to explore the variation laws of the main three-lane traffic flow parameters under different phases. Our results show that three lanes perform typical asymmetrical phenomenon in free flow and synchronized flow, while in wide moving jam, three lanes perform typical symmetrical phenomenon. These studies provide an useful reference for the management of a three-lane system.
