摘要

Monitoring human movement using wireless sensory devices promises to revolutionize the delivery of healthcare services. Potentially, each action or disease can be discovered by collaborative processing of sensor data from multiple locations on the body. In spite of the revolutionary potential of BSN, power requirements have limited the commercialization. This paper presents an energy-efficient medium access control protocol for BSN applications. The proposed protocol is designed to transmit data in the manner of stratification and asynchronous, which is based on heartbeat rhythm information and blood circulated theory. We experimentally compare the performance of the proposed protocol with other medium access control protocols. The results demonstrate that the protocol can reduce idle listening rate and save a significant amount of energy of biosensors in BSN.
