摘要

This paper aims to discuss the effect of sand grains covered with composite insulator on the surface electric field distribution of insulator in sandstorm condition. Comsol Multiphysics software based on finite element method, was used for the three-demensional modeling and simulation. Based on the calculation results, the effects of size, charge quantity, polarity and position of sand grains on electric field distribution are discussed. The simulation results show sand grains with different sizes have different distortion to electric field. Electric field is severely affected by charge quantity, polarity and position of sand grains. This study provides theoretical reference for the research of insulator flashover mechanism under the dust environment.
