The Research and Special Programs Administration (RSPA) in December published a Supplemental Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (SNPRM) addressing the safeguarding of food and food products during transportation. In the SNPRM, published in the 21 December Federal Register (69 FR 76423), RSPA is not proposing to establish its own regulations regarding the safe transportation of food and food products. Rather, RSPA is proposing to reference in 49 CFR certain existing requirements of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
