I've always been fascinated with the technology behind the MRE. Meal, Ready-to-Eats or MREs are room-temperature stable, individual field rations in lightweight packaging provided by the U.S. Department of Defense for military service members in the field. Much of the research and sensory testing of MREs are conducted by the Combat Capabilities Development Command (CCDC) Soldier Center, which was formerly the United States Army Natick Soldier Research, Development, and Engineering Center or Natick Labs.
