A NEW METHOD TO MEASURE THE MOVEMENT OF ATMOSPHERIC SPECKLE PATTERNS By

A system to measure the atmospheric wind velocity based on the speckle patterns has been developed. A telescope with a CCD camera and a photomultipler tube was used for the measurement and a general correlation method has been used to the data reduction. In this work, a new technique to calculate the correlation is also demonstrated.
